No bail application for Inverness woman facing charges of stealing from elderly men
A 29-year-old woman appeared in private at Inverness Sheriff Court this afternoon facing several charges of stealing from elderly men.
Stephanie Rennie, from Inverness, made no plea to five accusations of theft and one of threatening behaviour.
She was represented by Inverness solicitor Marc Dickson who made no application for her release on bail.
Rennie was committed for further examination and remanded in custody.
Her court appearance follows a statement by Police Scotland's Highland and Islands Division.
It read: "We can confirm that a 29-year-old woman has been arrested and charged in connection with a theft from an elderly man in the Dalneigh area of Inverness.
"The incident happened during the evening of Wednesday, June 10 at a cash machine in Lochalsh Road."
Inspector Alastair Garrow said: "We are grateful to everyone who has assisted with information about this incident.
"We would always encourage people to watch out for vulnerable members of our communities and if you have any concerns about potential criminal activity to report them to police on 101 as promptly as possible."
