UK health secretary Matt Hancock unveiled the vision for volunteers to help with "shopping, delivery of medicines and to support those who are shielded" during the latest Downing Street briefing.

"People can come and help and make sure the NHS and local services get all the help they can," he said.

No details were given at the briefing, however, of exactly how people can get involved.
