NO fresh cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in the NHS Highland area for the past 48 hours.

NHS Highland's cumulative total of positive tests for the coronavirus remained unchanged on 383 when the latest daily update was published this afternoon.

Across Scotland there were 18 newly-confirmed cases of Covid-19.

Once again Scotland reported no fresh fatalities overnight among those who have tested positive for the virus.

And the number of people being treated for the virus in the nation's hospitals also remained unchanged on 265. Of those, three were in intensive care last night.

Elsewhere in the north of Scotland, NHS Grampian accounted for 11 of Scotland's 18 newly-confirmed cases. This high proportion is being attributed to a hot-spot of infection associated with an Aberdeen pub.

The rest of the north of Scotland registered no new cases however, with cumulative totals for NHS Tayside (1795), NHS Shetland (54), NHS Orkney (nine) and NHS Eileanan Siar (seven) all remaining unchanged in today's daily update.
