Staff at Raigmore Hospital have told people using hospital grounds for leisure purposes to stay away for now.

In a statement, NHS Highland said: "It has been noticed that people have been walking their dog, cycling, and some even playing ball games on the 'free areas' of Raigmore Hospital.

"Advice, if you don't know, is to stay away from hospitals unless you are a patient or member of staff for obvious reasons including repercussions of minimising the Covid-19 virus. Most hospital appointments have been cancelled and/or rescheduled for a reason.

"Please stay away from the hospital so as not to cause any stress to anyone that has to attend the hospital and to minimise any spread of the virus among yourselves."
