Staff join The Ledge climbing gym and charity in Inverness
A team of expert instructors has joined a state-of-the-art climbing venture in Inverness with its opening just weeks away.
The Ledge Climbing Gym and Charity expects to open by the end of March.
Today, 10 staff took up their roles while the signs have also gone up outside the premises in the former Bensons for Beds unit in Telford Street.
The Ledge co-founder Duncan McCallum said the project's visible presence marks another major milestone in the development of the long-awaited climbing centre.
"This follows the delivery and installation of boulder safety matting from Core - Sheffield, and the employment of our instructor staff team," he said
"The team of instructors is not typical for a purely indoor 'wall' as it includes expert instructors who can deliver a wide range of outdoor climbing courses from introduction to expert roped climbing courses, specialist therapeutic social impact work, kids and youth climbing and elite level coaching," he said.
The instructors include the head route setter who has moved from Germany to take up the role while another two are from Wales. The rest are local or from other parts of Scotland.

Mr McCallum added: "The people we have are amazing and the quality of climbing is going to be something people north of Edinburgh have never seen.
"Our ambition is to make it a place for everyone to come and climb – it is not just going to be be for experienced people."
