New minibus brings delight to Inverness charity Special Needs Action Project (SNAP)
AN Inverness charity working with young people with special needs has received a brand new minibus.
Special Needs Action Project (SNAP) received the donation from organisers of the Highland Cross duathlon.
It will provide the same amount of seats as the charity’s previous bus but it will be less expensive to operate.
SNAP manager Dawn Walker said: “We are so grateful to Highland Cross for their support in providing this replacement bus. Our ‘Snappie’ bus is an integral part of SNAP’s services.
“It helps local families by transporting our young people to and from home, accessing various facilities and activities within the community as well as further afield within Scotland. We are absolutely delighted with our new bus and everyone is very excited to go on their first trip out in it.
“Give us a wave if you see us out and about in the community!”
SNAP provides leisure and recreation opportunities for more than 80 people aged between five and 35 and with special needs.
The charity provides after-school clubs and weekend breaks. It aims to increase the socialisation, self-esteem and independence of the people who attend.
