Gifted youngsters are being encouraged to enter Highland Young Stars, a talent show organised by musician Kenna Ross to raise funds for Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS).

The event will run on June 21 at Culloden/ Balloch Baptist Church and is open to youngsters aged six to 16.

Ms Ross, who had run a similar event last year as part of her Strictly Inverness fundraising bid for the Highland Hospice, said: “Last year’s event was a great success and I wanted to continue raising much needed funds for local charities as well as providing a platform for young people to showcase their talents.

“This year, our talent show has got bigger in every way, with a new name Highland Young Stars, more special judges and lots more talent! On the judging panel, we have very exciting musicians and performers too.

“Our chosen charity CHAS does incredible work for children and families.“

CHAS Highland Community Fundraiser Ruathy Donald said: “We are delighted that Kenna in organising Highland All Stars has chosen to support CHAS.
”It will be such a fantastic evening showcasing the young talent we have in the Highlands, at same time enabling CHAS to continue to provide unwavering care to children with life-shortening conditions and their families.”

Judges on the day will be local musician and ex The Voice participant Calum Jones, young dancer Peggy Innes and a CHAS representative, with the host being local actor and musician Malcolm Cumming.
