Inverness Highland Games to host charity relay this Saturday
A special relay will go ahead on Saturday at the Inverness Highland Games, raising money for four Highland charities.
Mikeysline, The Highland Hospice, Poppy Scotland and MFR's Cash for Kids will all take part in the 4x100m race at the city centre Bught Park.
Games Chieftain and Provost of Inverness Cllr Glynis Sinclair said: “This new addition of a charity relay event to the Inverness Highland Games is a great way for the local community to support local good causes while having fun and enjoyment.”
High Life Highland chair, Mark Tate, added: "We want the Inverness Highland Games to showcase our city and its people, and this platform gives us an amazing opportunity to do that.
“As part of that, we want to highlight the amazing work charities are doing in the area and it also provides a great fundraising opportunity.
“It’s our intention to make this an annual event to which any local charity can take part.”
There are still two lanes available in the charity race, and High Life Highland welcome contact from charities who want to take part.
