A SECTION of the A82 will close to traffic in Inverness next week while resurfacing work connected to the West Link project is carried out.

There will be four evenings of overnight closures of the trunk road between the Tomnahurich roundabout and the new Torvean roundabout.

The work will run from 4pm to 6am nightly from May 31 to June 3. While it is carried out, traffic will be diverted via the new canal swing bridge, which is expected to officially open on Monday, subject to checks later this week.

Works will also be carried out beyond the Torvean roundabout on the A82 heading south, which will feature signal control and a convoy system.

Access to the closed part of the A82 will be maintained for emergency vehicles, public transport and for any residents or local businesses within that section.

The work will include milling of the existing carriageway on Monday, May 31, resurfacing on the following two nights, and painting of white lines on the fourth.
