A NAIRN woman who assaulted two nurses who were treating her has been fined £320 at Inverness Sheriff Court.

Mandy Mackay admitted, by letter, striking the emergency workers in the A&E department of Raigmore Hospital in Inverness on August 5, 2020.

Fiscal depute Niall Macdonald told the court that the 58-year-old, of Albyn Court, had been taken by ambulance for assessment.

He said it was feared that she had taken an overdose of unprescribed drugs or alcohol and was in an agitated state.

“She was thrashing her arms and legs about and struck one nurse on the chest and the other on the head,” Mr Macdonald added. “Police were called.”
