A CHARITY football match has been held in memory of a Nairn teenager.

Reece Spark was just 18 when he died last year and earlier this month his friends and family staged a football match in aid of Highland mental health charity Mikeysline.

A spokesman for the cause said: “We are incredibly grateful that his friends and family marked the occasion of this match to promote further awareness about Mikeysline, raise funds for us and invited us to attend.

“We are so thankful to them and to everyone who donated an incredible £1276.72 which we will use to continue to support those in emotional distress.

“We will also be looking at how we can continue to raise our profile for further awareness and the support we can offer in the Nairn area. It has been a year since Reece was lost and our thoughts are with his family and friends at this time.”

Mikeysline provides support through a text-based service on 07786 207755 every Sunday to Thursday from 6pm-10pm and on Friday and Saturdays from 7pm-7am.

It can also be contacted via Facebook Messenger, Twitter, or live chat at www.mikeysline.co.uk
