Nairn MasterChef contestant's dream turns to custard
A CONTESTANT in the latest series of MasterChef was sent home after he baffled and shocked presenters, judges and viewers with his unusual pudding – custard ravioli.
Lewis Taylor, turned out some delightful dishes earlier in the show which was screened this week, but he got his just desserts with his ravioli offering and went out of the competition.
The 31-year-old from Nairn (pictured above) is a web developer now living in London and is training to be a pilot in his spare time.
He made potato gnocchi served in a gorgonzola and bacon sauce with a mushroom jelly and wilted spinach, which attracted praise from presenters Gregg Wallace and John Torode, who said: “I like the ambition, I like the creativity. I’d like to see Lewis cook again.”
However, they were less than impressed with the custard ravioli which prompted a near viral online response from viewers.
