High Life Highland confirmed earlier today that the swimming pool at Nairn Leisure Centre will reopen to customers on Monday with the easing of Covid-19 restrictions.

During Lockdown a burst pipe in the roof area of the centre caused damage in the gym area of the site and remedial work is already underway to repair the damage.

A temporary reception area and new entrance has been set up in the car park to welcome customers who will enter the building through a different doorway while the works are continuing.

Emma Thomson, the facilities officer for Highlife Highland, said, “We are really pleased that we are able to open the swimming pool side of the building so that customers are able to enjoy the pool again.

"The gym will take a bit longer and we would ask customers to bear with us while we complete the works and reassure them, we will have the rest of the building open as soon as we possibly can.”

In the meantime, outdoor fitness classes will continue and customers need to pre-book a space prior to coming along to a class.

All the latest updates for times and venues will be available on the centre's social media pages.
