Woodzstock Music Festival near Munlochy planned for Saturday postponed

THE Woodzstock Festival has been cancelled with news coming today after discussions between the organisers and Highland Council.
Owners Dave and Charlie Elliott said on social media earlier today: “We’re sorry to say that we have been informed that our event licence for this year’s Woodzstock festival cannot be granted.”
Later, they said: “Obviously we’re gutted with all the hard work that went into planning a safe event, particularly given the social distancing guidelines that changed suddenly – we felt that we had everything covered with a very robust event plan.
“Unfortunately with all the back and forth between us and the relevant authorities we ran out of time.
“We promised all the performers and staff and sound/ lighting companies a decision by Monday and couldn’t keep them hanging on any longer without taking a huge financial risk.
“We’re still reeling at the moment, but in a few days we will start planning for June 12 next year.
“It is what it is and we’d like to thank everyone who worked so hard to prepare and were so patient with not knowing if we’d be given the go-ahead or not.
“We’d particularly like to thank the festival-goers themselves for their messages of support and understanding – especially the people who have deferred their tickets to next year to assist us with finances.
“We appreciate it so much.”
