Motorists using part of the A82 south of Drumnadrochit could face delays on Monday as drainage investigation works are carried out.

Four-way temporary traffic lights will be operating from 8am to 6pm at the junction with East and West Lewiston.

BEAR Scotland, which is carrying out the works on behalf of Transport Scotland, described it as essential.

It said the traffic light system will be in place due to the nature of the works, and to protect motorists, pedestrians and roadworkers.

Access through the worksite for emergency services will be maintained.

Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s north west unit representative, said: “These drainage investigation works will provide valuable information regarding the drainage system and reduce the risk of flooding on the trunk road and adjacent local authority roads.

“Our teams will do all they can to complete the works as quickly and safely as they can, and we thank the local community and road users for their patience in advance while we complete these works.

“We encourage motorists to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information.”
