Witnesses say it appeared that the two large vehicles had collided at the Blackmount A9 junction with the A938, locally known as the Carrbridge junction.

Emergency services are at the scene and traffic is flowing although the lorry remains in the northbound lane but traffic is said to be moving around it at the moment.

It is not known if there were any casualties in the accident.

A Traffic Scotland spokesman said: “The A9 at Carrbridge is currently restricted in both directions due to a road traffic collision.

“Road users are advised to use caution on approach.”

AA Scotland said the incident was first reported at around 8.15 am this morning.
