Mental health walk in Inverness is popular – 11 road restrictions

A PIPE band will lead the fourth annual anti-stigma walk for mental health organised by Birchwood Highland in Inverness tomorrow.

Around 300 people are expected to take part in the event which leaves the Fisherman’s Car Park at 11am and ends in Falcon Square.

Several roads will be temporarily closed to all vehicles due to public safety during the parade. These include Ness Bridge being closed to eastbound traffic from 11.10am-11.30am.

The event is part of the Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival which ends on Sunday.

The roads affected are as follows:

  • Bught Road closed at its junction with Bught Avenue to its junction with Ness Walk Upper between 10.50am and 11.10am.
  • Ness Walk Upper closed at its junction with Bught Road to its junction with Ballifeary Lane between 10.50am and 11.10am.
  • Ness Walk Upper closed at its junction with Ballifeary Lane to its junction with Bishops Road between 10.55am and 11.15am.
  • Bishops Road closed at its junction with Ness Walk Upper to its junction with Ardross Terrace between 11am and 11.20am.
  • Ardross Terrace closed at its junction with Bishops Road to its junction with Ness Walk between 11.05am and 11.25am.
  • Ness Walk closed at its junction with Ardross Terrace to its junction with Young Street between 11.05am and 11:25am.
  • Ness Bridge closed to eastbound traffic at its junction with Huntly Street to its junction with Bank Street between 11.10am and 11.30am.
  • Bridge Street closed at its junction with Bank Street to its junction with High Street between 11.15am and 11.35am.
  • High Street closed at its junction with Bridge Street to its junction with Inglis Street between 11.20am and 11.40am.
  • Inglis Street closed at its junction with High Street to its junction with Academy Street between 11.20am and 11.45am.
  • Academy Street closed at its junction with Inglis Street to its junction with Union Street between 11.20am and 11.45am.
