A memorial service for a life-long Nairn County fan is to be held at Station Park on Saturday.

Bobby McPherson (65) died in April but due to Covid restrictions friends and family were unable to attend his funeral service.

Mr McPherson was a former committee member of the club and family members have organised a raffle for the occasion with a selection of prizes, including framed football prints and a tour of Ibrox Stadium for four as he was also a keen Rangers fan.

Proceeds will go towards Nairn County, the British Legion in Nairn and Millbank Primary School.

Dress code for the service, to be held at 11am at the Royal British Legion, is casual and Nairn County colours.

Club secretary, Ian Finalyson, said: "Bobby was a well-liked character and his loss was sorely felt by his family and many friends at the club.

"He always stood in the same spot on the hill at the entrance to the ground, enjoyed the banter and when the family approached us asking to accommodate the service, we were more than happy to oblige."
