BANK holiday rail disruption is set to hit passengers travelling between Inverness and Glasgow.

Engineering works between Stirling and Dunblane will result in bus replacement services for ScotRail's Inverness-Glasgow services on May 1, 2 and 3.

Buses will replace ScotRail trains between Glasgow Queen Street and Perth, with trains then operating the rest of the way.

The works will also result in changes to LNER and Caledonian Sleeper trains in and out of Inverness, with those services diverting via Fife and the Forth Bridge.

The disruption comes on top of further expected delays and cancellations this Sunday as part of continuing strike action by RMT members. They are striking for six successive Sundays in a dispute about overtime payments.
