A 20-year-old has been ordered to pay £400 compensation to a man he assaulted at Max’s takeaway in Inverness city centre.

A confrontation earlier in Johnny Foxes led to the assault at 2.30am on February 28 last year.

Declan Jack followed his victim to the takeaway, took off his jacket and ran towards him, punching him on the head causing both to fall to the ground. Jack, of Caledonian Road, admitted the assault.

Solicitor Marc Dickson said both men had been drinking and something had been said to Jack about his grandparents who had passed away.
