Inverness man fined for stealing mobile phone while at work at depot

An Inverness man has been fined for stealing a mobile phone while working at a delivery depot.

Lee Munro (24) appeared from custody at Inverness Sheriff Court after a warrant was issued for his arrest.

The court heard he was a crack cocaine addict at the time of the offence on November 13, 2019 at the Menzies depot on the city’s Harbour Road.

He was working when he stole the Samsung Galaxy A10 phone from a package.

The court heard that packages had been discovered to have been opened and an investigation was launched leading to Munro, of Benula Road, being found with the stolen device,

He was fined £500, to be paid at £75 a month.
