A MAN has appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court in connection with a disturbance alleging the possession of an offensive weapon at New Craigs Hospital in Inverness on Sunday.

Police Scotland said Duncan MacLaren (28), from the Aviemore area, was charged in connection with a disturbance at the hospital and he appeared in court on Monday.

The Crown Office and procurator’s service said MacLaren appeared on petition facing a charge of breach of the peace and two charges of possession of an offensive weapon. He made no plea and was committed for further examination and was remanded in custody.
