Inverness man faces charges of stabbing one man and attacking another with a glass bottle

A 30-year-old man appeared in private at Inverness Sheriff Court accused of attacking one man with a glass bottle and then stabbing another with a knife at two locations in the city.

It is alleged that Jay Williamson, from Inverness, assaulted the first man to his severe injury in Huntly Street on December 19, 2023 and stabbed the second on the body to his severe injury and danger of life in Dunabban Road on January 6 this year.

Williamson was represented by Inverness solicitor Natalie Paterson when he appeared from custody before Sheriff Gary Aitken.

Williamson made no plea to possessing a knife and a bottle; three charges of threatening behaviour and the two assaults.

He was committed for further examination to appear again later this month.
