A 39-year-old is arrested and charged after the sexual assault of a 35-year-old woman in Inverness last November in the Brown Street area of the city, he is due to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court today

Police Scotland have confirmed that a man has been arrested and charged following sexual assault in Inverness.

The 39-year-old was arrested and charged after the sexual assault of a 35-year-old woman in the city.

He is due to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court today.

The incident happened around 2.15am on Wednesday, November 24 in the Brown Street area of the city.

Speaking at the time, Detective Sergeant Christopher MacLeod said: “Thankfully the victim was not injured as a result of this incident and the man was chased from the area by both the victim herself and a friend."
