A 63-year-old man has died in another fatal crash on the A9.

He was pronounced dead at the scene of the three-vehicle crash around three miles north of the B847, Calvine Road junction yesterday afternoon (Sunday, June 23, at around 1.30pm).

It is the latest death on the Inverness-Perth stretch which road safety campaigners have been pressing the Scottish Government to dual faster in a bid to make it safer.

Police are appealing for information about the crash which involved a white Hyundai Ioniq car and two motorcycles - a maroon and a blue Harley Davidson.

The 63-year-old man was driving one of the motorbikes.

The passengers of the car were taken to Ninewells Hospital and the road was closed for around seven hours.

A 50-year-old woman was arrested and charged in connection with the incident. She is due to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court today.

Police are still investigating what happened.

Sergeant William Strachan said: “Our enquiries are continuing into the circumstances of this collision in which a man sadly died, and our thoughts are with his family at this time.

“I would ask anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or who may have dash-cam footage, and has not yet spoken to or provided this information to officers, to contact us as soon as possible."

Call police on 101 with information.
