Man arrested and charged in connection with robbery in Inverness city centre

It follows an appeal issued by police yesterday in which they reported a robbery having taken place near to the entrance to St Mary's Church around 1.05am that morning when a man and woman were approached and threatened by a man.

The couple were not injured in the incident but were left extremely upset by what happened.

The man is due to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court on Thursday.

Police thanked the public for their assistance.
