Man abandoned vehicle and tried to escape police in Inverness last night

A 33-year-old man ditched his vehicle and tried to evade police on foot in Inverness last night.

He was caught and charged with road traffic offences.

A police spokesman said: "A 33-year-old man has been charged with road traffic offences after failing to stop for officers when signalled in Telford Road shortly after 8.30pm on Friday.

"The vehicle was found abandoned a short time later.

"The man was subsequently traced by officers and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course."
