A man has been arrested following a house fire in the Stratton area of the Highland capital.

Fire crews rushed to the scene on Drummossie Road on Monday (June 20) just after 1pm.

No one was injured but two crews were on scene for nearly two hours extinguishing the blaze.

A 24-year-old has now been arrested in connection with the fire, police said.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 1.10 pm on Monday, 20 June, 2022, police and emergency services were called to a disturbance at an address on Drummossie Road, Stratton, Inverness.

"A 24-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are continuing.

"A fire was subsequently discovered at the address and both Drummossie Road and Benbecula Road were closed to allow Scottish Fire and Rescue to deal."
