In their Inverness store alone they currently have items from the likes of Christian Dior, Jigsaw, Mistral and Dune thanks to the generosity of local supporters.

Sharon Hardie, Shelter Scotland’s Inverness community shop manager, said: “People have obviously been taking the opportunity to follow the Marie Kondo method and do a proper clear out while they were stuck at home.

“These items have already put a smile on our faces and we know they will spark joy for bargain hunters when they find these beautiful clothes, shoes, hats and accessories. There has never been a better time to visit our shop.

“Funds raised in our charity shops go to ensure our advice services and campaigns are there to help people facing homelessness or housing problems and that has never been more important. We can’t thank people enough for their support.”

Shelter Scotland’s charity shops are now operating under new safety procedures with hand sanitizer at the door, signs to remind people of social distancing and 72-hour quarantine for all donations.

Donations of pre-loved adult clothes in good condition are particularly welcome. The charity advises people to call ahead to check that more donations can be received as some of the branches are short on storage space.
