Luke Stoltman wins Britain’s Strongest Man in Sheffield - first time Highlander has won the title





Luke Stoltman claimed the title of Britain’s Strongest Man for the first time in his career at an event in Sheffield last night.

The 40-year-old, from Invergordon, proved too good for the rest of the competition as he won the title by 5.5 points after five events.

He finished the competition on 52 points with Shane Flowers in second place on 46.5 points and Andrew Flynn third on 42.5 points.

In the first event, the Sandbag Steeplechase, he finished in second place with six in 55.29 seconds. The event involved throwing 140kg sandbags over a hurdle.

In the deadlift ladder, he finished in second place with four reps in 29.10 seconds. The event involved lifting weights ranging from 300kg to 380kg. Adam Bishop won with five in 30.66 seconds.

In the Duck Walk into Farmers Walk, which involved a 200kg duck walk into 2 x 150kg in each hand, Stoltman finished in second place in 24.38 seconds. Andrew Flynn won in 22.81 seconds.

Stoltman then won the log press in the fourth round as he was the only competitor to do five reps of the 160kg log.

In the final event which was the Castle Stones, he lifted all five stones in 26.99 seconds which gave him third place, but enough points to win the overall title of Britain’s Strongest Man.

Stoltman has previously won Europe’s Strongest Man twice in 2021 and 2024 and has also won Scotland’s Strongest Man five times.

Stoltman’s brother Tom, who is the current World’s Strongest Man champion, winning the title three times in his career in 2021, 2022 and 2024, has previously won Britain’s Strongest Man three times. He won the British title in 2021, 2022 and 2024.

Tom was not competing at this year’s Britain’s Strongest Man.

The 2025 World’s Strongest Man Championship takes place in Sacramento, California between Thursday, May 15 and Sunday, May 18.
