Loch Ness road obstructed after HGV crashes off A82 near Inverness

TRAFFIC was disrupted this morning (Tuesday, January 18,2022) after an HGV went off a trunk road near Inverness.

The incident happened on the A82 Loch Ness road on the Dunain Straight, but it is understood the driver escaped serious injury.

Police attended to investigate and also manage traffic until the artic truck could be recovered.

Scottish Fire and Rescue also went to the scene and helped make the area safe and dealt with a small spillage of fuel additive.

A Police Scotland spokesman said shortly before 1pm: "We were made aware of a lorry which had gone off the A82 south of Inverness around 11.30am on Tuesday, 18 January.

“There are no reported injuries and recovery has been arranged for the vehicle.

“One lane has been opened and traffic is being managed.”
