Loch Ness restaurant The Italian Job given permission to add alcohol to the mix
A popular Italian restaurant and take-away near Loch Ness has been granted planning permission from Highland Council that will allow it to serve alcohol to both sit-in and take-away customers.
The move at The Italian Job at Unit 4, Carriers Croft in Lewiston, Drumnadrochit, will not involve any changes to the existing 20-seat premises.
The applicant, Mrs Dario Tarina said in a design statement from RedSix Architecture lodged with the application: "Surrounding the application site there are other cafes, restaurants, takeaways, and shops.
"The site is located in the heart of an area of great tourism, it is estimated that there will be an increase in pedestrian foot
traffic spread through the day, evenings and weekends. This will benefit other local businesses and the overall character of the area.
"This planning application was submitted after continued requests by patrons for alcohol at the restaurant. The intention is to expand on a thriving existing business that already provides good quality food and drink to now be able to serve alcohol for better enjoyment of the tourists and other customers which will be an asset to the town generally."
The restaurant and takeaway will operate Tuesday to Saturday.
4:30–7pm - Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
4:30–7:30pm - Friday and Saturday.
It will close Sunday and Monday.
