A round Loch Ness event scheduled to take place at the end of May has been postponed following the latest update on the easing of restrictions.
Nicola Sturgeon announced a roadmap earlier this week for how Scotland might emerge from the current lockdown, but plans for large events still seem some time off.
That prompted organisers of the Loch Ness 360 Challenge to postpone their events for the second year in succession.
It means the inaugural weekend event is now scheduled to take place in May 2022.
The Loch Ness 360 Challenge consists of five separate events – an ultramarathon, mountain bike circuit, and three marathons over three days, completing a 360-degree loop of the loch.
A statement read: "Following the most recent government updates it is clear that the events would not be able to go ahead in the way we had hoped. The health, safety and welfare of our participants, volunteers, staff, stakeholders and the local community must be our priority."
The 2022 event will now take place from Friday, May 20, to Sunday, May 22.
Those who have already entered will have their place automatically deferred to next year's event unless they register to receive a refund before Wednesday, March 17.
