Creditors left out of pocket by the closure of an Inverness hair salon are being urged to contact the law firm handling its liquidation.

The Inverness branch of Toni & Guy on Bridge Street, along with its Aberdeen counterpart, closed earlier this summer.

A spokeswoman for the international chain said the closure had mainly been a result of "the volatile retail environment" caused by high rent increases, and that the closure of its only two salons in the north of Scotland had been a last resort.

The business, one of hairdressing's best known names, will focus on areas with potential for growth, she added.

Aberdeen law practice Meston Reid & Co has been appointed liquidator to Toni & Guy (Highlands) Limited.

Managing partner Michael Reid is asking any creditors who have not yet lodged a statement of claim to contact him at Meston Reid & Co, 12 Carden Pl, Aberdeen AB10 1UR, or email reidm@mestonreid.com
