Leading UK pianist Martin Roscoe will visit Nairn for special performance
An acclaimed classical musician is giving a special performance in Nairn later this month.
Pianist, Martin Roscoe, is playing at Nairn Community and Arts Centre on Saturday, November 23 at 7.30pm as part of the Music Nairn 2024/24 concert series.
With an career spanning five decades, Martin Roscoe is renowned for versatility and musicianship. At home in concerto, recital, and chamber settings, his repertoire spans over 100 concertos.
Performing on Music Nairn’s Steinway Model B grand piano - considered one of the best concert pianos in private hands in Scotland - Roscoe will take listeners from Beethoven’s Pathétique Sonata to Schubert’s Impromptus, followed by works of Debussy and Ireland. The evening will conclude with Liszt.
Throughout his career, Roscoe has worked with conductors such as Sir Simon Rattle and Sir Mark Elder, performing across Europe, Canada, Australia, and the Far East.
He has had chamber music collaborations, including long-standing partnerships with Peter Donohoe, Kathryn Stott, the Maggini Quartet, and many other celebrated musicians and ensembles.
Roscoe is also in musical education, currently serving as Professor of Piano at the Guildhall School of Music in London, where he has been awarded a Fellowship.
He is also the artistic director of Ribble Valley International Piano Week and the Manchester Chamber Concerts Society.
His career includes over 600 broadcasts, including seven appearances at the BBC Proms, and an extensive discography with acclaimed recordings for Hyperion, Chandos, and Naxos.
