Speaking at the event, Mr Campbell said: “We both wanted to create an amazing gin that the city would be proud of with its rich culture and beauty.

“The recipe is Adam’s brainchild, he was a chef before distilling and his favourite ingredient to use was chanterelle mushrooms.

“It’s an umami gin made of a mix of seaweed, chanterelles, elderflowers, peppercorns, lingonberries and orange peel,” he explained.

The drink went down well with all the guests who were also able to enjoy live music from band the 136 along with woodfired pizza to soak up the booze.

The Inverness Gin bottle features unique artwork within it, as a delicate illustration of Inverness has been created by artist David Fleck for the bottle.

A poem was read by Willie Cameron, known more famously as ‘Mr Loch Ness' in honour of the launch.

Speaking after the event, Mr Campbell, said: “I’m lost for words after the launch.

“It was a really good night and great to see everyone enjoying the product and event held.

“We would never have imagined 10 years ago that Adam and I would be co-owners of a distillery together."

Inverness Gin can be purchased online at www.greatglendistillery.co.uk or at their shop in Drumnadrochit.
