Latest registered sighting of unidentified creature on Loch Ness is seventh so far this year
Another possible sighting of Nessie has been registered on the Official Loch Ness Monster Sightings Register bringing the total so far this year to seven.
The latest sighting was reported by a young man visiting from Cambridge who saw an unidentified creature for two seconds in Urquhart Bay close to the castle.
The encounter happened on Wednesday June 2 about 1.30pm while he was scanning the loch surface with binoculars from the castle site.
Gary Campbell, who keeps the register, said: "He said a hump came up going against the waves, looking like a turtle's back, black in colour with a green tinge to it.
"He reported that the weather was warm and sunny with excellent visibility."
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, most sightings posted recently on the register at www.lochnesssightings.com are from the Loch Ness Webcam.
They include three sightings reported this year by veteran Nessie watcher Eoin O'Faodhagain, of Ireland and two sightings by Kalynn Wangle, of America.
