Fiscal depute Adele Gray told Inverness Sheriff Court: "He was aggressively shouting and swearing in Polish at someone up the street. Then he went into his house and re-appeared with a knife and brandished it.

"Police were called and he was arrested."

Defending, Willie Young told Sheriff Robert Frazer that his 40-year-old client was currently serving a jail sentence for breaches of bail.

He added: "He has little recollection of what happened or who he was shouting at. He was heavily under the influence of alcohol."

Sheriff Frazer jailed Grzejszczak, who admitted previous convictions, including one for having a knife, for four months.
