KELTY Hearts claim they have not been told by Inverness Caledonian Thistle about scrapping plans to use their ground as training base next season.

The Fife club said this afternoon they are still waiting to hear that Inverness’ plans to cancel a deal to use New Central Park as its training ground next season is off following its announcement.

Inverness originally planned to move its training base to Kelty as they believed it would give it a better chance of attracting new players to join the club, as well as citing the high cost of accommodation in Inverness being problematic for its finances.

However, Caley Thistle revealed at 2.30pm on Wednesday afternoon that it was axing plans and would keep training at a ground at Fort George for the forseeable future.

But Kelty Hearts are unhappy, claiming they were not told about the plans to cancel the deal before the official announcement was made.

They also say that they were not informed by the club Ross Morrison had stood down as chairman of Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

Kelty Hearts general manager Stefan Winiarski says they are now waiting to hear from Inverness Caledonian Thistle about why they want to cancel the deal.

Winiarski said: “We have had no contact to notify us that the original agreement which had been discussed and signed has been altered.

“We have also not been notified that Ross Morrison has resigned as chairman either.

“We have received no information in an official capacity that the deal has changed or there has been developments in the boardroom.

“The agreement was signed between both parties and by both boards and it was an unanimous decision at Inverness after they discussed at length the reasons they wanted to do it. It has not been cascaded to the wider audience why that has happened.

“Considering there was an agreement in place I would expect someone at the board to get in touch with us that it wouldn’t be happening as well as Ross is not the chairman anymore.

“Our next move is to hear from Inverness as that is the way business should be conducted and inform everyone before the official statement is made.”
