A trade store chain with more than 20 outlets across the UK has opened its newest shop in Inverness.

Würth UK, which sells tens of thousands of products to the automotive, wood, metal and construction trades, opened its latest outlet on the site of the former American Golf store at 17 Harbour Road.

The opening of the store, which was celebrated by Wurth on its social media channels this afternoon, takes the company’s UK presence to 24 sites.

Inverness is by far its most northerly outlet, with its only other stores in Scotland being located in Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Confirming that the store has now opened, the company said: “We're thrilled to announce the grand opening of our brand-new store in Inverness!”

The outlet, which is inside Unit 1, will be open on weekdays from 7.30am to 5pm. To contact the site call 07979 538 506 or email inverness@wurth.co.uk.

News of the trade store’s imminent arrival in Inverness was first revealed by the Courier late last month after the company advertised for a manager for the new Highland outlet.

It is not known how many jobs have been created with the opening of the new outlet, and repeated attempts to get further information from the company ahead of its launch proved unfruitful.
