A VARIETY of uniquely decorated sculptures of comic book icon Oor Wullie have appeared in several locations throughout Inverness city centre.

Around 200 individually designed statues are set to appear on the streets of Scottish cities to help raise vital funds for sick children’s charity the Archie Foundation.

Dubbed as a bucket trail, a unit in the city's Eastgate Shopping Centre has been dedicated to the initiative and is home to one of the statues.

Other sites for the statues in Inverness include Falcon Square, Cavell Gardens, Eden Court, Inverness Castle and the railway station.

The statues have been sponsored by local firms and some of the designs take inspiration from sources such as Caley Thistle, Ross County, Nessie and Ben Nevis.
