A drug user has admitted being in possession of heroin with intent to supply.

Angus Macrae (34) of Diriebught Court, Inverness, was sentenced to 145 days in prison after pleading guilty to the charge which dated from September 6 last year.

Depute fiscal David Morton told Sheriff Chris Dickson at Inverness Sheriff Court that Macrae allowed his property to be used for storing heroin for onward supply.

In total 7.3 grams of the class A drug, worth £550, was recovered.

Solicitor Neil Wilson said his client played a minor role in a larger operation

"He has a longstanding problem with heroin but now uses it intermittently," he said.

"He lapses into the habit, which has financial implications. He was offered a small amount of money (for his role)."
