A public drop-in event highlighting major development projects and investment in Inverness will be held later this month.

The Inverness Strategy event aims to tell people what is going on across the city and area, with the chance to talk to those delivering change on the ground.

It will be at the Town House on November 26 between 2pm and 7pm.

The event, which is accompanied by an online StoryMap, focuses on the city’s role as the beating heart of the Highland region and outlines the changes under way and on the horizon.

It is also an opportunity to comment on a developing vision for the future.

The strategy’s partners include Highlands and Islands Enterprise, Inverness and Cromarty Firth Green Freeport, Network Rail, City BID, Visit Inverness Loch Ness and Inverness Chamber of Commerce, Inverness Community Partnership and Inverness Community Council Forum.

Stallholders at the event will include Inverness Castle and Levelling Up Fund projects Bught Park and Northern Meeting Park.

Other themes include future land use, housing development and sustainable travel and transport.

City Leader Councillor Ian Brown said: ““Inverness is a great place to be, and we believe it can be the envy of any other city in Scotland with respect to the development actually being delivered at present.

“Bringing together the agencies, businesses and community partners who are delivering on priorities for the future, the emerging Strategy will lay the groundwork of a collective vision.

“This partnership approach aims to improve the delivery of current and emerging plans and projects to ensure Inverness remains Highland's prime destination for those who live, work, visit and invest here.”
