Inverness woman locked up after being arrested in Dagenham
An Inverness woman has been locked up after failing to turn up for a background report that will determine her sentencing.
Terri Kaczmarek (36) spent nearly one week travelling back to Inverness after she was arrested by police in Dagenham, England on May 14.
She had previously pleaded guilty at Inverness Sheriff Court to carrying an article or blade - namely a pair of scissors - without reasonable excuse in Drummond Road, Inverness on February 10, 2022.
Sheriff Sara Matheson remanded Kaczmarek, of Millerton View, in custody until her next hearing for the background reports to be completed.
Her defence solicitor Mhyrin Hill said: “Regarding her non-attendance, she had gone to London at the end of February has her partner’s mother had passed away.
“Kaczmarek has ongoing neurological issues as she was in a coma as a result of an overdose.”
Sentencing has been deferred until June 17.
