ScotRail Inverness to Wick and Thurso service cancelled after signalling fault at Rogart on the Far North line





ScotRail has cancelled this evening’s train service from Inverness to Wick.

The rail operator is blaming a signalling fault at Rogart in Sutherland for the decision,

The journey, leaving the Highland capital at 6:31 pom and arriving in the Caithness town at 10:52 pm, takes in major stops along the way including Dingwall, Alness, Tain, Invergordon, Brora, Helmsdale and Thurso.

As yet, there is no information on any alternative transport being laid on for passengers affected by the cancellation.

A ScotRail spokesman said: “We have had reports of a signalling fault at Rogart and we are unable to run trains between Inverness and Wick. Disruption is expected until the end of today (24 July).

“Train services between Inverness and Wick will be cancelled, delayed or suspended.

“Staff have been advised and will be attending.”
