An Inverness takeaway has closed — just under four months after it reopened.

The owner of The Grumpy Chef, based on Waterloo Place, said it is with a ‘heavy heart’ they have decided to close the door.

The Grumpy Chef started in 2016 but closed after Covid due to personal circumstances.

In October 2024, it reopened in its new location, serving up salad boxes and tasty takeaway choices.

Yesterday, the owner announced they had again decided to close.

In a social media post the owners said: “With a heavy heart, we have decided to close the door.

“Our last day was Friday and we didn't want to make any fuss about it.

“I know the question is going to be ‘why?’. But we'll get some words together between the two of us.

“Although, I'm sure I can say, on behalf of us both, thank you so so much! It's been great to see our regulars and newbies, we missed you too.”

The Grumpy Chef has been contacted for comment.
