AN Inverness independent sewing shop has been shortlisted for a Scotland-wide award with a chance to retain last year's title.

Located on Tomatin Road, The Wee Fabric Shop in Inverness was announced among the Scotland finalists for the Best Regional Independent Store at this year's British Sewing Awards 2022.

Owned by Fiona Mackie and Marice Gneba, the shop was the winner of the title at last year's awards.

Ms Mackie said: "We are hugely grateful and honoured that our lovely customers have nominated us again; without their support, over a challenging couple of years, we wouldn't be here. The competition is tough featuring some lovely independent businesses but hopefully we can keep the title here in Inverness!"

The shop will face competition from the likes of Mandors and Sew Confident from Glasgow as well as Flamingo Fabrics, Dundee and Just Sew Simple, Livingston.
