An intrepid Inverness schoolgirl is undertaking three daredevil challenges at Loch Ness next month all in aid of the Highland Hospice.

And after these amazing adrenaline fuelled escapades, Danni-Jayne Steele of Wimberley Way, is heading off on a 22-night trip to the jungles of Borneo.

On the weekend of June 1 - 2 at the village of Dores on the south end of Loch Ness, Danni-Jayne will firstly plummet more than 150ft as she does a bungee jump from the jib of a large crane.

Then a 1,800ft zipline ride will be waiting for the 16-year-old Millburn Academy pupil.

The following day the crane will again be in action, this time to catapult Danni-Jayne 160ft into the sky - a bungee jump in reverse!

Danni-Jayne is a real adrenaline junkie and has taken part in similar feats previously for Highland Hospice.

She said: “I just love the excitement of these events, and it’s an even bigger buzz knowing that you are doing it for an incredibly good cause.

“Then it’s off to Borneo for 22 nights on a school trip organised with World Challenge. That will be amazing.”

Danni-Jayne has reached almost 70% of her £250 target, and this is her fundraising link

Highland Hospice has teamed with sponsor Ord Industrial and Commercial Supplies, as well as Stoddart Crane Hire to offer the challenges, working with UK Bungee Club, Big Bang Promotions.

A spokesperson for the charity called it "the ultimate bucket list experience" and all on the shore of iconic Loch Ness and raising vital funds for Highland Hospice.

She added: “Sponsored by Ord Industrial & Commercial Supplies this is the perfect opportunity for adrenalin chasers to get their fix at the most famous loch in the world.

“Working with UK Bungee Club, Big Bang Promotions and Stoddart Crane Hire you are in the safest of hands, with 100% safety records. All participants will be guided by the professional team and have the experience of a lifetime taking on this incredible challenge for Highland Hospice, celebrate afterwards with a visit to our event partners, The Dores Inn.”

She added: “We are so grateful to our main event sponsor, Ord Industrial Supplies for their incredible support. Huge thanks also to Alba Traffic Management for their support and help, the Dores Inn who will be open for food and drink all weekend, the Mackinnon family the local community at Loch Ness for allowing us to host it there, and huge thanks to Stoddart Crane Hire for giving us the use of two cranes for the event. We can’t wait for September!”

To take on the bungee challenge participants must pay a £35 registration fee and raise a minimum of £125 in sponsorship.
