Inverness school teacher passes away at 84, Highland care home announces
A former Inverness primary school teacher has passed away at the age of 84.
Christina ‘Tina’ MacLeod, who used to teach at Crown Primary School, passed away at the Ballifeary Care Home in Inverness on Sunday after a short illness.
Her death has been described as “a sad loss to family, many former pupils and friends”.
A funeral service celebrating her life will be held at Greyfriars Free Church in Inverness’s Balloan Road on Friday, May 23 at 2pm.
Her burial will take place in Uig Cemetery on Skye on Monday, May 26 at 1pm.
Announcing her passing, and her funeral details, the William T. Fraser & Son funeral home in Inverness said: “After a short illness and in the outstanding care of the staff at the Ballifeary Care Home, Inverness on Sunday, May 11, Christina 'Tina' MacLeod, aged 84 years.
“Former school teacher at Crown Primary. Beloved sister of Angus and sister-in-law of Valerie, aunt to Martin and Gordon and great-aunt to Callum, Rory, Daniel, Lucy and Kai.
“Will be a sad loss to family, many former pupils and friends.
A service to celebrate Tina’s life will be held in Greyfriars Free Church, Balloan Road, Inverness on Friday, May 23 at 2pm; thereafter burial will take place in Uig Cemetery, Isle of Skye on Monday, May 26 at 1pm. All friends respectfully invited.
