Inverness is the UK’s 81st sexiest place, according to a new sex map.
The city’s 46,870 residents have spent more per head on their sexual pleasure since the pandemic.
The city has charged up the rankings after being placed in 108th place in 2020.
Sexual wellness brand Lovehoney analysed spending habits throughout Scotland and the UK to discover how lockdown had impacted on passion. People from Inverness were ranked 170th in the UK for roleplay, with sales of French maid and butler outfits being the most popular.
Rankings for other locations in and around the Highlands included Fort William (331st), Aviemore (374th), Dornoch (416th), Dingwall (569th), Dunbeath (1093rd) and Invergarry (1,539th).
A Lovehoney spokeswoman said: “Inverness is the UK’s 81st sexiest place with a rise in sexual activity since lockdown.
“We have seen a surge in activity in and around the Highlands as singles and couples look to escape the pressures of lockdown by experimenting more sexually.
“All our data shows that couples with great sex lives enjoy higher overall levels of happiness.”
The figures are based on Lovehoney’s extensive data on the UK’s sexual behaviour.
Lovehoney, the UK’s biggest sex toy retailer, is booming with sales of more than £100 million annually.
In April, the firm received the Queen’s Award for Enterprise for boosting UK exports.
